Ok so this is ongoing & something that I feel strongly about.
This situation with MIKE & NIKE…which company is ok to step on & the companies that we let slide.
It would be better if there was a consistent mode of conduct towards these situations. This way everyone understands the state of play. & I send this out not solely to Nike, but to all that aspire to have some of the worlds most Creative Talents adorn their Brand in some shape or form.
By having said creatives ‘create’ for you, it opens doors for internal Design Teams to be inspired, & so the dominoes fall.
The more this happens the wiser the Creative, after all they are in Business & understand the Mechanics, & dare I say the Art of Business.
& They will come to terms & understanding that they are donating Creative Direction for very little Gain in the Bigger Picture.
With that in mind, time is fast approaching that the Creatives you may aspire to have are much more aware of ‘the Bigger Picture’. At that moment it is what can the Company Offer the Creatives.
Yes, there is the exposure the Company can offer, but a few of said Creatives do not need the exposure. It is more of what they do for the Company.
I feel that it is not hatemongering, it is more of wanting a mutual respect & understanding between the Creative & the Company.
I have taken pictures for Nike, & other Companies…might not have been massive campaigns, but I have done it, but it was all laid on the table what was happening where & when….Perfect.
If a level ground is reached & the ‘State of Play’ laid out, the Company would only be chasing the real Counterfeiters & the Creatives, would pay a different level of Homage.
That is it.
Be Well.
