WHY NOT PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET ?

Ok so this is ongoing & something that I feel strongly about.

This situation with MIKE & NIKE…which company is ok to step on & the companies that we let slide.

It would be better if there was a consistent mode of conduct towards these situations. This way everyone understands the state of play. & I send this out not solely to Nike, but to all that aspire to have some of the worlds most Creative Talents adorn their Brand in some shape or form.

By having said creatives ‘create’ for you, it opens doors for internal Design Teams to be inspired, & so the dominoes fall.

The more this happens the wiser the Creative, after all they are in Business & understand the Mechanics, & dare I say the Art of Business.

& They will come to terms & understanding that they are donating Creative Direction for very little Gain in the Bigger Picture.

With that in mind, time is fast approaching that the Creatives you may aspire to have are much more aware of ‘the Bigger Picture’. At that moment it is what can the Company Offer the Creatives.

Yes, there is the exposure the Company can offer, but a few of said Creatives do not need the exposure. It is more of what they do for the Company.

I feel that it is not hatemongering, it is more of wanting a mutual respect & understanding between the Creative & the Company.

I have taken pictures for Nike, & other Companies…might not have been massive campaigns, but I have done it, but it was all laid on the table what was happening where & when….Perfect.

If a level ground is reached & the ‘State of Play’ laid out, the Company would only be chasing the real Counterfeiters & the Creatives, would pay a different level of Homage.

That is it.

Be Well.

NOT AGAIN…

Went to watch Arsenal vs Middlesbrough this weekend.

Another stressful home game…games that we should be winning & not drawing…I guess it is better than a loss.

But my question is, have we got it? Can we make it?

I have a feeling that we may just not have what it takes this year…we are amazing in Defense & Midfield, but in the final 3rd we are just lacking…no one wants to have a go.

I was expecting to see a few of the shots from outside the box from Van Persie, but the man is still a tad short of match fitness. If we ever needed Rosicky it is now…that man is not afraid to have a crack!!!

Defeatist…perhaps, but more a realist…we need to win every game, & now that Chelsea are in the running, the pressure is really on…especially as they & Man Utd have a game in hand.

For some reason I can see us making the final of the Champions League, but I do not know where we will be come May in the Premier League.

We have some big games coming up & we need to win all of them.

We need to get every player have the Strength & Determination of Flamini. In my opinion that Man has the Heart & Desire that sometimes I find some of our other players Lack.

Bring on Liverpool & lets raise the Bar.

Be Well

ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS…

...for me being inspired & venturing into a world of Visuals.

Mr Saul Bass.

Mr Bass changed the way we look at the Title Sequence of a Movie...before Saul there were no Title Sequences, & then Saul came along & changed everything.

If you can find it...you must get his DVD, 'BASS on TITLES'...anyone who is into Graphics should get this & gain knowledge from it.

The man was a Genius, & way ahead of his time...I have given you one of my favorites here 'Nine hours to Rama' & one of his last works 'Casino'

‘1989 ANOTHER SUMMER…

...SOUND OF THE FUNKY DRUMMER '

I will never forget the day that I saw Spike Lee's 'Do the Right Thing'

I was very much into the Whole Hip Hop scene at the time, but when this came out it changed the way I looked at it & how I felt about it.

The opening Titles alone where enough for me...I could have left after Spike Lee's name came up at the end. Rosie Perez moves like no other...watch & see, she feels what Chuck is saying & her movements depict her emotion's & the Time & Place.

New York City, in the last throws of the 90's...social unrest, equality continues to be the topic of the day & how people of colour chose his or her reaction to the animosity. What is ironic is that all these things seemed to be apparent at the Cannes Film Festival where the Film was premiered...it should have won the festival, but the rumours were that it was just 'too Black'

If ever a film affirmed it's message, it was that day.

I would hate to think that there are people out there that have not scene this...well if not take the time & watch one of the Greatest Pieces of Contemporary Celluloid.

Be Well.

VERTICAL PANORAMIC PERSPECTIVE

Have updated the Projects Section with a New One - Vertical Panoramic Perspective.

These are a series of Portraits taken with my Russian Panoramic Camera on Kodak 160VC 35mm Film. They were originally for a Colab Project that I was working on, but now that has progressed into something a little more exciting & conceptual...still with the same Folks, but will be a lot more fun.

There are more of these Personal Projects coming up in the future...so watch this space.
