OK I have come across a couple of things in the last few days that have caught my eye.
VISIT PORTUGAL, yes that is right...have you seen this Photo Campaign on the Tube, or perhaps around the Globe ? Shot by legendary Nick Knight...excellent portraits of some of Portugal’s Cultural Heroes...yes Ronaldo & the Special One made the cut. More than the people is the technique used for these portraits. The toning & then the superimposing of the Portugese Scenery. Of course these are still, but on the Webiste they are animated which brings a new dynamic to a Great Concept.
You can down load them off the site, but be prepared to wait as there always seems to be a server busy spiel that hits you when you get there.
GLENMORANGIE 5 SENSES, Mike Figgis, Oscar nominated Director has a show starting May 14th at the Proud Gallery. What I liked about the write up that I saw, was that he was using a lot of mirror imaging, reflection in this show...& you all know that I am fan of that.
The write up suggests that the show is full of ‘...imposing images that push the boundaries of fashion & photography.’

ROADTRIPS
‘I’m on holiday.’ was the comment that came from Eli’s lips last Friday as we set off to Bristol on a Bus.
But that is it isn’t it ?
The feeling you have of leaving town on an excursion, it relaxes you & but leaves you with a slight excitement of anticipation of the time ahead.
The Journey adds to the excitement & the fact that you are on your way to some where else...the adventure ahead is calling.
When you get there, it is all less familiar, unknown...all you know are the people you came with. & With this comes a sense of letting go, after all you have made this trip to party, & not to stand around the corners & wait your moment to shake....
Unless you drove yourself the Bus is your ride home & it does not leave till the break of dawn so you stay & enjoy yourself till you hear the rally call. & By Jove you had a spanking good time
Perhaps we should start a Roadtrip Club...& go to different spots every month & have some fun on this Sceptered Isle.
Have to say had a bit of a ’88 - ’89 flash back...thought I was going to a Rave at one point....

REALLY DARK
Did anyone see the Waking the Dead on BBC1 Mon & Tues ?
Well Tuesday’s conclusion was pretty harsh. If you do not know about the show it is our Forensics TV show & has quite an interesting cast...well we like it.
Anyway, so they find this mummified body that turns out to have been killed around 17 years ago. The story pans out that this guy was part of a gang of Skinhead Neo Nazis, but the twist is that this fella was in the gang for Revenge.
You see the skinheads burnt down a Hospice where this African man was living out his last days, & this said African man was the lover of the Skinhead bound on Revenge. Well both Lovers have contracted Aids. Our Skinhead turns out to be a good Tattooist & comes up with the this Flame Tattoo that the 3 main Skins get done on their back.
What he does is hide within the flames the Hebrew word for ‘Burn’ but not just Burn...Burn as in Burn in Hell. & to top it...he made the Red Ink with some of his own blood. This way he passed the Aids Virus to the skins who killed his lover.
So even if they found him out, they would still die...
Now that is Dark...

IT’S A SECRET
But, Consistency & Planning goes a long way...& I like it very much when I come across People that apply both Processes with Positive Effect.
& TRAPSTAR are a group of these people. Trapstar, have been, & are Consistent, & you best Believe that they are following a careful laid Plan that appears to be bearing fruit.
More Importantly these Gentlemen are enjoying themselves at the same time...no doubt there are a few of the unavoidable business stresses that we all have to deal with, but they seem to have their Game in Check. Something very nice to see.

SHIT HAPPENS
But why does it happen when you really do not need it to.
I was meant to have a bit of a fun productive jobs that I wanted to do...you know the things that make you smile etc....not that most of what I do does not make me smile...ok that is bullshit ‘cause I get pissed off on a daily !!!
Anyway, have had this shoot I have been meaning to do with the good people at DONUTS in Bristol...well I say Good People...they seem like Excellent People...I have yet to meet them...oh shut up & get on with it !!!
Ok, I was due to do this shoot last weekend, but had to cancel because the van needed an MOT, & Grandma double booked Guest for the Weekend...ahhh Life hey.
Now I am ready to rock for this weekend, but then I call the Van Man...wish I never made that call. Turns out we need some major work done & should be ready this Friday. Cool.
Call again...why, why, why...Uh Will not be ready till Next Week...& now we, myself & the Paisley Princess have decided to go the whole hog & get the Van done all New...a massive kerching in the Garage’s Pocket, & dent in ours...but over a few weeks we will have our van looking Mint.
So all things going well...I should have a patched & primed Van to ride to Bristol next week !
I love Our Van & can not wait to go surfing in the Summer & show that Bad Boy off !!!
