That was the question thrown out to me from Che a while back.

What could I do...I could be the Good Parent & sent him on another path, or I could be the Honest Parent & tell him what I really did like no matter what it was. As I have nevered lied to my kids I went down the latter route. I could have gone a little softer but I wanted to make a certain impact with a 14 year old brain.

I wanted something that would hit home & be commpletely different to what he was listening to, & maybe there was a side of me that wanted his mother to be a little annoyed that these tunes would be banging from his room. Sorry Mickey, but rarther from me than anyone else.

So 2 of the albums that have stuck with me & I always listen to are: -

1. 'Ready to Die' - Notorious BIG
2. ' Illmatic' - Nas

What can I say they still hit strong even today...but perhaps 'cause I am that little bit older I do listen to 'Things done Changed' that tune hots me more & more each day.

So now my son knows every word of 'Ready to Die' & 'Illmatic' & his fave tunes on each album are:

'Gimme the Loot'
'NY State of Mind'
