Last night I was at YOYO & the night before at DEVIATION, & one of the things that I noticed in my travels to & from both events was the amount of people sleeping on the streets.
I know we have always had a homeless problem in this fair city & perhaps because it was warm, that so many were sleeping unsheltered, but I was struck by the amount of young people sleeping rough.
Is there no end to this existing situation ?
These people were not what we would deem, ‘Tramps’ and many were not the usual ‘Junkie’...they seemed ‘Regular’ for want of a better description. Perhaps illegal immigrants or not...normal people very down on their luck.
& There were many in Notting Hill Gate last night...many & huddled in groups just lying out fast asleep. Ok some may have been drunk, but many were just putting their head down for the night.
Times are certainly hard & these are the obvious signs of the times, but none the less it still makes me feel sad & blessed at the same time.
But what can be done ? Can the government do anything about this or is this part of the picture of the cityscape ?
I fear not much & it seems it will get a lot worse before it gets any better.
Just an observation I wanted to share.
Be Well.
